ACCENTUATE THE POSITIVE

From Deposit Photos. Note: Jesus didn't have a halo around his head. If He did, Judas
would not have had to kiss Him to identify who He was for the soldiers to arrest Him.
Jesus continued: "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Matthew 5:6
Does that sound familiar? Maybe not, but there is another statement from Jesus which correlates to that verse. He is preaching to his listeners about several subjects. He gives details about giving to the poor / how to pray / an astounding reason for forgiving others / fasting / everything you need to know about money and treasures / and finally commands and reasons NOT to worry. Then his last two sentences in Chapter 6 are these:
Matthew 6:33-34 "But seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Therefore it stands to reason if you know:
What to do with your $$
How to pray
Have no unforgiveness in your heart
Learn about fasting
Know how to stop worrying
That you will be able to seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness and here's the bonus: you will be HAPPY!!
But if you go searching for happiness by gaining $$ / don't bother to pray / get revenge when possible / don't learn about fasting, I assure you that
A. Worry lines will show up on your face.
B. Happiness will elude you.
Jerry tells a story from his military days about 2 men who did not get along. The bigger man picked on the smaller one. Finally the smaller one got angry enough to tell his tormentor this: "You have to sleep sometime, you ___________." The big man's eyes grew very large and his affect changed.
Jesus said, "For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions." Matthew 6:14-15 NAS
Here is a very old song by Bing Crosby.
