Empty Tomb

Happy Easter! Blessed Easter! I am always so glad to get to this day! Focusing on all that Jesus suffered is very difficult for us as humans. The pain maybe some can relate physically, but spiritually? Having His Father turn away from Him I don't think we can understand that. But it is Easter and we can celebrate!

We began last Wednesday in Genesis 4 . . then Genesis 22 / Exodus 12 / Leviticus 16 / Isaiah 53 / John 1 and now Acts 8. We traced the sacrifices from 1 person, Isaac through to Exodus 12 - each family /Leviticus 16 - 1 nation to Isaiah 53 - ALL who will come to Him, then John 1 wherein Jesus was called the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the WHOLE WORLD.

ACTS 8:26-35

An angel directed Philip to go south from Jerusalem to Gaza. On his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official for Queen Candace of the Ethiopians. This man was on his way home from Jerusalem sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah (in the Old Testament). The Spirit told Philip, go near the chariot and stay there. Philip heard the man reading and asked him if he understood what he was reading. The man asked how he could unless someone explained it to him. So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

The eunuch was reading this passage:

"He was led like a sheep to the slaughter, and as a lamb before the shearer is silent,

so He did not open His mouth. In His humiliation He was deprived of justice. Who can

speak of His descendants?

For His life was taken from the earth."

The eunuch asked Philip, "Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else? Then Philip began with that very passage of scripture and told him the good news about Jesus. Thus, Jesus was sacrificed for Individual Salvation - Whosoever each.

1 PETER 1. Faith & Hope

For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your forefathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect. He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through Him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead, and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God. The RESURRECTION is for all history before and to come. In the same way that God Himself provided the lamb (ram) for Abraham to save Isaac, God Himself provided his one and only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to save you and me.

Lamb on the Throne

REVELATION 5:6-8 The Savior - Sovereign

Then I saw a lamb, looking as if it had been slain.

Standing in the center of the throne, encircle by the 4 living creatures and the elders. He had seven horns and seven eyes which are the 7 spirits of God sent out into all the earth. He came and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne. And when He had taken it the four living creatures and the 24 elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense which are the prayers of the saints. The Lamb was offered for the Universe. KING JESUS!

In Revelation Jesus Christ is referred to as the Lamb 29 times. Astonishing! Especially so the one receiving the revelation. He finds himself standing before the throne of God. The One on the throne holds a scroll 'sealed with 7 seals'. The seals cannot be broken. But they must! The scroll must be opened. In the scroll are God's plans. But there is no one to open a document like this! John starts to weep, fearing no one can break those seals. A voice states "the Lion of the tribe of Judah has conquered . . " Waiting to see a lion? No, it's a Lamb!

Our culture wants a lion, does it not? Is it strange that people will follow a lamb? John the Baptist knew and John the Revelator now too. There will be multitudes to follow.
